May Day rafting with transportation

NON-WORKING DAYS IN THE REPUBLIC OF SERBIA FOR 2023 are MAY 01 and 02

Day 1 (April 30 - Sunday)

Departure from Novi Sad at 08:00h.

Drive to Belgrade, where passenger departure is planned at 09:15h. Transportation is provided by high-floor tourist buses and minibuses. Necessary border formalities will be carried out.

Arrival in Sarajevo in the afternoon. Here we will have the opportunity to visit the famous Baščaršija, the old cultural and historical core of the city. We will visit the Latin Bridge, the place where "the first shot in the First World War was fired", i.e., the site of the assassination of the Austro-Hungarian heir to the throne, Franz Ferdinand, the Inat House, the Sebilj, the Baščaršija Mosque, the Gazi Husrev Beg Mosque, the Clock Tower, the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, the Serbian Orthodox Church, and more.

Free time until departure to the RT Rafting Center.

Arrival at the RT Rafting Center in the evening.

Accommodation in bungalows or rooms.

Free time for socializing and getting to know each other.

Dinner.

Socializing by the campfire with excellent live music.

Overnight stay.

Guests are recommended to rest well because an exciting day awaits us tomorrow.

Day 2 (May 1st - Monday)

With the first morning rays, you will see the beauty of the surroundings and the rafting center itself, which is decorated in an ethnic style, with wooden bungalows hidden in the shade of the trees that surround us and located on the Drina River, which calmly flows by and invites you to socialize with its crystal-clear color…

Breakfast.

Now is your chance to try the specialties of our region. Homemade food from nearby villages. Homemade prosciutto, fritters, honey, eggs, cheese pies…

Free time for activities or the possibility to go on one of our excursions.

Important note. A large number of excursions include a lunch package in the price, so lunch is not provided in the program. If you decide to stay in the RT center, you can order lunch at our restaurant.

After the afternoon rest or return from the excursion, the

 Dinner .

 follows, as well as socializing by the campfire and music.

We advise you to bring warmer clothes because although the days are very warm, the nights by the river can surprise us with their coldness…

Overnight stay

Day 3 (May 02 - Tuesday)

After a comfortable night's sleep in our wooden bungalows/rooms, you will wake up with the first morning rays with joy. The fresh forest air will awaken all of your senses. In our restaurant, you will be served with excellent homemade coffee and tea, and there is also homemade brandy. Next to the restaurant, you can enjoy the rooftop terrace, as well as the summer garden overlooking the Drina River.

Breakfast. Breakfast time is approximately at 9 a.m.

Now you will have the opportunity to try the specialties of our region. Homemade food from nearby villages. Homemade prosciutto, sausages, our famous buckwheat cakes, homemade cherry jam, eggs, cheese pies, young Romanish cream cheese... breakfast is rich in calories and will give you the necessary energy as the rafting adventure begins soon...

After breakfast, the equipment necessary for rafting will be provided to you. Everyone gets neoprene suits specially designed for longer stays in the water and which will protect you from the cold water of the Tara River. The suits are taken at the skipper's room, where all the rafting equipment is located. You also need shoes or boots made of neoprene, a life jacket, and helmets. You take all the equipment to your rooms/bungalows and put them on over your swimwear or shorts. Do not wear anything under the suits, except swimwear or shorts.

After putting on the rafting equipment, we gather on the plateau, where traditional group photography follows, and then we will read the rafting lists.

Since the RT Center is located at the so-called goal, we go to the starting point of rafting with our vehicles.
The drive to the starting point of rafting takes about an hour.

After arriving at Brstanovica, the skippers - boat drivers, will assign you to boats where they will give you a brief briefing on the behavior course on the boat. The boats used for rafting are professional boats made specifically for rafting and are designed to withstand the playful rapids of the Tara River.

Each boat has waterproof bags where you can put some basic things.

We advise you to bring your GO PRO cameras. If you don't have them, you can rent GoPro cameras from us and capture unforgettable moments while rafting. Note that we are not responsible for the loss and possible damage of phones and cameras that you bring on rafting.

During the rafting, you will encounter over 30 exciting rapids (the most famous are Cells, Pines, Varda...) which will leave you breathless with their power and speed, and will give you a real feeling of adventure and adrenaline.

If you forgot to bring something to drink, feel free to lean over the boat and take refreshing water from the Tara River, whose water is drinkable along the entire length of the basin, which is why the Tara River was named the "tear of Europe"...

At some point during the descent, we will take a break and see who has the courage to pass the "test of masculinity, " that is, to bathe in the icy waterfall whose temperature is barely 5°C.

You will also have the opportunity to bathe in the Piva River, a river of incredibly clean water, which together with our Tara, forms a mighty river - the Drina. After rafting on the Tara River, we continue to the RT center by the Drina River.

After about 2-3 hours, the duration of the descent, we arrive at the foot of the rafting center. Followed by returning the equipment and warm water that will be immensely pleasant after the cold water of the Tara River.

Lunch.  We serve lunch after returning from rafting.

Departure to Belgrade, Novi Sad. The estimated departure time is 4 PM.

We will make a break in Višegrad. We will walk across the bridge which we read about in the book of our only Nobel laureate, Ivo Andrić, "The Bridge on the Drina". We will get to know the bridge, find out who was behind its construction, and what history the bridge tells us... We will also visit the newly built Andrićgrad or Kamengrad, a city built according to the idea of our renowned director Emir Kusturica in memory of Ivo Andrić, as its name suggests...

The planned stay in Višegrad is 2 hours, with the possibility of organizing a tourist boat ride on the Drina river for those interested.

The ride to Belgrade and Novi Sad where the arrival is scheduled for late evening hours.

END OF THE ARRANGEMENT
